Elvin Yong: Phurba
In a limited series of three exclusive prints, we celebrate the craft that Elvin Yong has honed, a craft where every line, shade, and color blends to narrate tales inked in permanence.
A Phurba, also known as a ritual dagger, is a powerful symbol in Tibetan Buddhism and Hinduism. This three-sided dagger is traditionally used in ceremonies to dispel evil spirits, negative energies, and obstacles. The Phurba represents the spiritual power to overcome internal and external adversaries, channeling divine wrath to protect and purify. Its intricate design often features the heads of deities and mythological creatures, underscoring its sacred significance. The Phurba is not merely a weapon but a sacred tool for transformation and spiritual awakening, embodying the triumph of wisdom and compassion over ignorance and malevolence.
